With 2-Step Verification (also known as two-factor authentication or 2FA), you add an extra layer of security to your account in case your password is stolen.
After you set up 2-Step Verification, you’ll sign in to your account in two steps using:
- Something you know, like your password
- Something you have, like your phone
Get started:
- Click on the link below, and if you not already signed into you Google account, sign in.

- Once signed in, click 'Get Started' and if prompted, sign into Google again.
- Enter your mobile number and choose how you would like to receive verification codes
- Enter the 6 digit verification key into the box and click next to validate the code.
- If all has worked as expected, you will have an option to 'Turn On' 2 step verification.

- Great! - You have turned on 2-Step Verification and have 1 method available for verifying your identity. For added security in the event that you change your phone number or lose your phone, we STRONGLY recommend setting up a second method of 2-Step Verification using Twilio Authy
Installing and setting up Authy:
- Download Authy to your mobile device using these links:
- Open the Authy app and enter your mobile number.
- Enter the verification code sent to you to verify that you own the device.
- Once verified, you will have the options to 'add account' to your Authy app - Click the + button to add an account.
- Click scan QR code and enable and allow the Authy app to access the camera on your device.
- Back on 2-Step Verification menu on your Google Account scroll down and click on the 'SET UP' option for Authenticator app
- Select your device type (iPhone or Andriod) and then scan the QR code onscreen with your Authy app.
- Save the account on your Authy app and click next on the on the 2-Step Verification website
- Enter the Yellow 6 digit number shown on the Authy app into the 2-Step Verification website and click done.
Amazing! You now have turned on 2-Step Verification and have 2 methods for verifying your identity
